  • From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, a franchise spin-off starring Ana De Armas, now has a trailer.
  • Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, it focuses on ballerina-assassin Eve Macarro.
  • Ballerina release date: June 6th, 2025.

Between No Time To Die, The Gray Man, and now, Ballerina, the action genre seems to suit Ana De Armas.

In her latest blockbuster assignment, the femme fatale has inherited the role of Eve Macarro (formerly “Rooney”); the titular ballerina trained in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma seeking vengeance; and originally portrayed by professional dancer Unity Phelan in John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum.

She also reunites with her Knock Knock and Exposed co-star Keanu Reeves for the hotly-anticipated John Wick spin-off. And by all accounts, it proved to be her most physically demanding project to date.

“We’ve been in Prague filming for four months, we still have one more month to go. And I’m in pain. You know, my body, my back, everything hurts. I’m complaining, I’m sore, I’m bruised,” Ana de Armas revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Bond was fifteen minutes. This is a whole movie, another level. But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing crazy stunts. And I’m like — I can’t complain anymore. Because he is doing it! He truly is the best.”

Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves have been joined by Ian McShane who reprises his role as Continental Hotel New York owner and John Wick ally Winston Scott; the late Lance Reddick as Continental Hotel concierge Charon; Anjelica Huston as “The Director”; alongside Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and David Castaneda.

Ballerina has been directed by Len Wiseman of the Underworld series (starring Kate Beckinsale), Live Free or Die Hard, and Total Recall (starring Colin Farrell) fame; while the screenplay has been accomplished by Shay Hatten, who penned John Wick: Chapter 3 — ParabellumJohn Wick: Chapter 4, as well as Zack Snyder’s Army of Thieves.
