The rebirth of Kia as we knew it began with the launch of the all-electric EV6, and this week, we’ve gotten our first peek at the 2025 edition.

It was only a couple of years ago when we were introduced to the Kia EV6, followed shortly by the beefier EV9 SUV. Unsurprisingly, our favourite EV from Kia thus far has been the weapons-grade track monster that is the EV6 GT. But the early previews of the 2025 Kia EV6 (and what it’ll offer) hint at a new king.

Due to arrive in the second half of this year, the teasers reveal angular new headlights, a slimmer tail-light bar, as well as possible changes to the wheels and bumpers. Obviously, we’re still awaiting confirmation on the specs, although a larger 84kWh battery (compared to the current 77.4kWh). Potentially borrowed from the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

A larger battery will likely translate to an improved driving range compared to the current EV6. Presently, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Air offers the longest range of any current EV6: up to 528 kilometres between charging stops.

The 2025 Kia EV6 is also expected to enjoy the same infotainment system as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, boasting twin 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay, and even a 5.0-inch panel for the air-conditioning controls.

The full unveiling of the 2025 Kia EV6 is predicted to occur sometime towards the end of this month, while the first examples are anticipated to arrive in showrooms before the year’s end.
