We’ve all got a mate who can’t chain a couple of passes to save their life; habitually blaming either the controller, quality of the team, or anything else to justify utter incompetence.
For these regular rage-quitters, the folks at EA Sports have now announced FC Tactical — a fresh take on the beloved (and recently-rebranded) game that slows things down for the smoother-brained among us.
With all the pace of Jannik Vestergaard, FC Tactical swaps slick 1-2s and artfully crafted team goals for a more strategic, turn-based form of virtual soccer.

The game encourages players to develop the skills of their teams through training — which can be picked from the Premier League, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Budesliga, Ligue 1, etc. — allowing high-skill moves to be gradually unlocked as progress is made.
“FC Tactical embraces strategic gameplay to create an all-new football experience that immerses players in the World’s Game like never before,” said Nick Wlodyka, Senior Vice President of EA SPORTS FC.
“We’re excited to welcome fans of turn-based strategy games to join the club as part of the EA SPORTS FC player community, and look forward to sharing more on FC Tactical soon.”
There will undoubtedly be an appetite for FC Tactical, which is expected to be released in early 2024.
