According to reports, Sony’s next ‘State of Play’ event will welcome the new PlayStation 5.
Dubbed the ‘PlayStation Meeting 2020’ in leaked internal emails, the event will supposedly play host to the reveal of the fifth generation gaming console currently referred to as the PS5 on February 12th of next year.
At the reveal, third-party publishers such as Activision, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and EA will all be invited as well to show off their next-gen titles for the unreleased console.
The source also claims that “numerous tests” have been carried out on the PlayStation VR 2 prototype, and that gamers can expect to see the upgraded virtual reality hardware before the 2021 financial year.
Since PlayStation skipped E3 2019, the brand has been rather quiet in recent months and across the headlines. It’s no doubt, however, that a huge console reveal event would quickly change that.
While you’re waiting, here’s everything we know about the PlayStation 5 so far.
