Forget Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan should be high on your list of theme parks to visit after the announcement of Super Nintendo World.
Scheduled to open before the Olympic Games kick off in July, the video game paradise is a sprawling theme park with a number of different worlds based on games from Nintendo.
The Osaka-based Super Nintendo World is set to include a Super Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Adventures ride, along with the ability to traverse different sections of the park in a certain order – not unlike playing different levels of a video game.
To celebrate the theme park, Nintendo released an action-packed trailer soundtracked by the song “We Are Born To Play”, a new collaboration between artists Galantis and Charli XCX. The trailer shows a number of different people playing the Nintendo Switch before they’re transported into a game eerily similar to Super Mario Bros.

Another cool feature about the park leaked by journalist Kurumi Mori is the introduction of wearable wristbands dubbed “Power Up Bands.” Using smartphone technology, these bands will track your progress through the park and allow you to interact with the surroundings, i.e. battle bosses and collect coins.
Similar Super Nintendo World theme parks are set to be built in Hollywood, Orlando, and Singapore over the coming years. In other words, everybody will soon be able to experience what it’s like to be inside a Nintendo game.
