Conveniently, just days before A Quiet Place dropped on Aussie Netflix, Paramount Pictures rang in the New Year with the official theatrical trailer for the hyped sequel to the 2018 horror-thriller.
A Quiet Place Part II immediately follows the events of the surprisingly successful original, with sporadic flashbacks to the chaos that ensued during the early days of Earth’s invasion by sound-hunting aliens.
Emily Blunt returns as the matriarch of the Abbott family, Evelyn Abbott, who attempts to navigate her children through a world of anarchy alone after the death of her husband, Lee (John Krasinski, who is also the franchise’s director).
Peaky Blinders front-runner Cillian Murphy joins the cast, with his character warning of the silent world they now live in.
“You don’t know, do you?” Murphy’s character says.
“The people that are left are not the kind of people worth saving.”
Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blood Diamond), is also included in the line-up, which all drops in theatres on March 19, 2020. You can catch the trailer below and the original on Netflix right now.
