- Amazon MGM’s Jack Ryan movie will punctuate four seasons of the hit streaming series.
- John Krasinski is officially set to reclaim the mantle of titular super spy; while Wendell Pierce returns as CIA veteran James Greer.
- Jack Ryan movie release date: TBA.
John Krasinski isn’t done with the Tom Clancy-verse just yet.
According to multiple reports, The Office alum turned Hollywood multihyphenate is reprising the role of CIA operative (and fictional US president) Jack Ryan for a movie being produced by Amazon MGM.

Krasinski is also set to be reunited with series co-stars Wendell Pierce and — assuming negotiations don’t fall apart — Michael Kelly; the latter of whom has since taken on another superb CIA thriller in Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness.
Behind the camera, series director and executive producer Andrew Bernstein is set to helm the forthcoming project based on a screenplay penned by Aaron Rabin, who was a co-executive producer and writer for the fourth and final season.
Story details remain a mystery at this stage. But we’re guessing it may involve the fallout of Krasinski’s Jack Ryan exposing Senator Henshaw (Derek Cecil) for being tied with Zeyara’s (Zuleika Robinson) operation. Or perhaps an entirely new threat.
In addition to the sequel film, a spin-off series headlined by Michael Pena is also in development. As you may know, Pena portrayed former Navy SEAL and senior CIA operative Domingo “Ding” Chavez in season 4, and quickly proved to be a fan favourite.
Stay tuned for more details on Amazon’s currently untitled Jack Ryan movie starring John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and potentially Michael Kelly.
