In the wake of the groundbreaking revelation that Borat 2 has not only been confirmed but also secretly completed and screened, the title for this highly-anticipated sequel starring Sacha Baron Cohen has just been revealed.
According to a since-removed listing from the Writers Guild of America site, in true Borat fashion, the official Borat 2 title will apparently be:
Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premier Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan
The WGA listing also named Cohen as both director and writer alongside an entire team of screenwriters – Anthony Hines, Dan Swimer, Peter Baynham, Erica Rivinoja, Dan Mazer, Jena Friedman, and Lee Kern.
Aside from this, little else is known surrounding the production. Which just makes the title reveal that much tastier, really. All we know is that the Borat character will no longer be a small-time television personality from Kazakhstan. Reports indicate the Borat character believes he’s now a high-profile celebrity due to the success of the original 2006 film. Sources have described the film as “Cohen playing Borat playing Cohen.”
At this point in time, Borat 2 does not have a confirmed release date. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for any WGA listings and prompt removals thereafter to bring you the juicy details.
