From Bateman to Batman, Christian Bale has long been a fixture within pop culture cinema, but there’s still a missing piece in his extensive filmography’s puzzle: Star Wars.
“All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through,” Christian Bale recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
“The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it.”

Bale added: “But look, if I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little.”
“I also know [Kathleen] Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I did Empire of the Sun, and now, she runs the Star Wars universe.”
The Star Wars cinematic universe has something of a tradition when it comes to blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos from high-profile names. Notable incognito appearances from the past include the following:
- Director Sofia Coppola as Sache (The Phantom Menace)
- Creator George Lucas as Notluwiski Papanoida (Revenge of the Sith)
- Simon Pegg as Unkar Plutt (The Force Awakens)
- Daniel Craig as First Order Stormtrooper FN-1824 (The Force Awakens)
- Tom Hardy as an unidentified First Order Stormtrooper (The Last Jedi)
- Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Slowen Lo (The Last Jedi)
- Composer John Williams as Oma Tres (The Rise of Skywalker)
- Karl Urban as an unidentified First Order Stormtrooper (The Rise of Skywalker)
Incidentally, Christian Bale / Bruce Wayne has actually been trained by Star Wars’ Qui-Gon Jinn himself (Liam Neeson) in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. Which you can revisit in the video linked above.
