The enduring fascination surrounding the exploits of real-life paranormal investigators – Ed and Lorraine Warren – clearly hasn’t died down. The good news for franchise fans? Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It now has a first trailer. The bad news for anyone looking to click play? Depending on your bladder control, you might need a second pair of underwear; and the need for back-up dacks is all but certain when the complete film hits screens.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as the daring married couple, depicting what has been described as one of the Warren’s most chilling and sensational cases – the synopsis for Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It is as follows (fair warning… those who want to avoid spoilers should refrain from doing too much online research beforehand):
“The Conjuring 3 reveals a chilling story of terror, murder, and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators: Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in US history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.”
Wilson and Farmiga will be joined by Ruairi O’Connor as the notorious Arne Cheyenne Johnson, as well as Sarah Catherine Hooke, Julian Hilliard, and John Noble. Written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, Aquaman), the upcoming Conjuring universe instalment has been directed by Michael Chaves and produced by Australia’s own James Wan, as well as Peter Safran.
Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It will hit domestic cinemas on June 3rd – watch the first trailer above.
