Ewan McGregor has reunited with his best mate Charley Boorman to document yet another road trip for the books. With both Long Way Round and Long Way Down under their belts, the duo will now dust off the old riding boots for Apple TV+‘s Long Way Up.
This time around, McGregor and Boorman will attempt to cover 13,000 miles across 100 days – averaging close to 150 miles each day – starting their tour from the “tip” of South America all the way to Los Angeles. Additionally, to do their part in the crusade for environmental sustainability, the wheels of choice will be prototype electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycles. So they certainly have their work cut out by them.
“You’ll be the first people to go this distance – charging as you go,” a currently unidentified presence remarks in the trailer above.
The footage hints at all-new challenges McGregor and Boorman have never faced before, encountered in all-new terrains that are no less picturesque than the ones from previous occasions, as well as all-new fears to be confronted (brought on by the wisdom and cautious nature of age).
Long Way Up will be an 11-part series. The first three episodes will be available to stream via Apple TV+ starting from September 18th, with an additional episode released every Friday thereafter.
