The trailer for Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s The Revenant is finally here. The film marks the first time Iñárritu and Leonardo DiCaprio have worked together, with the survival-adventure tale featuring DiCaprio as Hugh Glass, the mythical frontiersman from the early 1820s, who after being brutally attacked by a bear and abandoned by his fellow hunters, traveled more than 200 miles seeking safety and redemption.
The Revenant also features Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina), Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Will Poulter (The Maze Runner) and was shot in the Canadian wilderness using only natural-light by Iñárritu’s Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Birdman, Gravity). Filming endured brutal Alberta weather conditions only to unexpectedly run out of snow at the end, so the cast and crew will gear up and head south to Patagonia, on the southern tip of South America in the coming months in desperate hope of completing the film by Christmas.
