A heavyweight boxing champion in Creed III but an even greater heavyweight screen talent in real life, as you’ll gather from this recent interview, Jonathan Majors has experienced a meteoric rise to mainstream stardom ever since he was tapped to lead HBO’s Lovecraft County.
In the years following his brief-yet-memorable tenure as Atticus Sampson “Tic” Freeman in the critically-acclaimed horror drama series, Majors has appeared in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, Netflix’s ensemble western The Harder They Fall, as well as having landed the role of Marvel’s next Thanos-level threat: Kang the Conqueror (which you can now witness in the critically-divisive Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantamania).
During his recent visit to Sydney, Australia, Boss Hunting had the distinct pleasure of sitting down for a quick yarn with the man himself: the conversation ranging from his headline-making body transformation for both Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut in Creed III and Magazine Dreams, the legendary pugilists he drew inspiration from in order to inhabit Damien “Dame” Anderson, as well as quite the tasty confirmation of his involvement with an upcoming project that’s been on our radar for some time now…

While had certainly been rumblings about Majors being in discussion to portray the almost-mythical Dennis Rodman in 48 Hours In Vegas – a comedy based on the Chicago Bulls superstar’s infamous trip to Sin City amidst the 1998 NBA finals (Chicago Bulls vs Utah Jazz) – Majors personally revealed he is indeed attached to the much-anticipated film currently being helmed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller; who you may have encountered through 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, as well as Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
“Yeah, I’m playing Dennis Rodman… it’s fine, we’re working on the script,” Jonathan Majors exclusively told BH.
“Let’s get it done, guys. Thank you… cool. You actually helped me.”
Prior to this, Majors had alluded to the possibility by noting his desire to speak with The Worm himself.
“It’s on my list… I know where he’s at and I think he’s open-hearted and wants to collaborate,” Majors hinted in conversation with Variety at the Governors Awards.
