The upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion will see the return of original Jurassic Park cast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. And not just for a cameo, either – like in the case of Goldblum’s pop-up appearance during the previous instalment, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. As Sam Neill himself confirmed in a recent interview, Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm are in it for the long haul.
“We’re all the way through the film, Jeff, and me, and Laura,” says Neill.
“We’re all going to be living in the same joint for three or four months, so that’s going to be fun. And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I think we’ll be a very happy bunch.”
Neill went on to note that he “probably won’t be running as fast” as he was twenty-seven years ago, but I think we’ll all forgive him for that one.
Additionally, late last year, director Colin Trevorrow hinted that Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler would play a “major role, not a cameo” in Dominion. Meaning it’s safe to assume the original trio will definitely be key components to the story at hand as opposed to cosmetic additions.
This is all certainly welcome news to JP fans across the board, especially after the disappointing bait and switch of Fallen Kingdom. As you may recall, the marketing focused quite heavily on Goldblum’s return as Dr. Ian Malcolm, alluding to a larger role. The reality? He was present for no more than an expositional one-minute scene. And then we had to spend the remaining two-hours pretending Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters were remotely interesting.
Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled for international release on June 11th of 2021.
