News of a 40-hour non-stop rave at a Star Wars filming location in Tunisia last year somehow trickled down into our feeds here in the BH office.
‘Les Dunes Electroniques’, as we came to discover, is an annual rave at Luke Skywalker’s fictional home of Mos Espa in the deserts of Tatooine, which in reality is a village at the edge of Tunisia’s southern desert of Ong Jmel in North Africa.
With tickets going for just AU$72 (and with some foresight as to the outcome of 2020) we should have done everything in our power to make it to last November’s desert doof.
Fortunately for all of us, as proved by the 2019 Les Dunes Electroniques aftermovie, it wasn’t just a hype show, but rather a mystical combination of tough tunes, palm trees, ancient structures and wandering camels.
Les Dunes confirmed to us in a press release that they will return, but that’ll unlikely be until 2021 at the earliest. Until then, you can watch the likes of Apollonia, Archie Hamilton and Audiofly set the scene in this epic Les Dunes Electroniques aftermovie below.
