Nobody quite knew what to expect from Mark Wahlberg when he decided to make the jump from rapper to actor in the mid-90s.
But over the course of three decades, Marky Mark would deliver some of the most memorable performances in modern cinema (i.e. Boogie Nights, The Departed, The Other Guys), earn countless accolades including two Academy Awards, as well as provide plenty of entertainment.
Now, at the age of 52, Mark Wahlberg is contemplating a gradual retirement from acting altogether in order to focus on his other ventures (of which there are numerous).

“Well, I’m certainly working harder now than ever,” Wahlberg revealed in a recent interview with Cigar Aficionado.
“Certain businesses, you kind of build them, pass them on, or you exit. Hopefully my kids, we’ll see what their interests are, but I don’t think that I’ll be acting that much longer at the pace I am now. That’s for sure. Because that’s the most difficult thing.”
The Hollywood multi-hyphenate who inspired HBO’s Entourage also admitted he only became a producer — which he’s obviously made an absolute killing from (beyond Entourage alone) — “out of necessity.”
Wahlberg added: “I didn’t want to sit around waiting for Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or whoever was already established before me and were the guys at the time, and Leo [DiCaprio] to go and pass on a movie until I could get my hands on it.”

“I was always proactive in trying to find material and things that I could produce, that I knew was right for me, create my own destiny.”
So what will Mark Wahlberg’s life resemble post-acting retirement? As some of you may recall, the man divulged his ridiculous daily routine a few years prior, which naturally gained viral attention:
- 2:30 AM — Wake Up
- 2:45 AM — Prayer Time (gotta stay prayed up)
- 3:15 AM — Breakfast
- 3:40 AM to 5:15 AM — Workout
- 5:30 AM — Post-Workout Meal
- 6:00 AM — Shower
- 7:30 AM — Golf
- 8:00 AM — Snack
- 9:30 AM — Cryo-Chamber Recover
- 10:30 AM — Snack
- 11:00 AM — Family Time/Meetings/Work Calls
- 1:00 PM — Lunch
- 2:00 PM — Meetings/Work Calls
- 3:00 PM — Pick Up Kids @ School
- 3:30 PM — Snack (man likes his snacks)
- 4:00 PM — Workout #2
- 5:00 PM — Shower

One can easily see how being needed on set or being on location for some adventure caper alongside Tom Holland would interrupt all this.
