While Creed III absolutely rakes it in at the global box office, franchise star and first-time director Michael B. Jordan has been meeting with executives from Amazon to establish an entire Creed cinematic “universe.”
“Details are sketchy because some of the conversations are still in exploratory stages, but we hear that an anime series connected to the Rocky spinoff IP is in the works, and there are ideas for a companion live-action TV series,” reports Anthony D’Alessandro, Nellie Andreeva, and Peter White of Deadline.
“Also percolating is a potential project centring on Adonis Creed’s daughter Amara, who was played by deaf actress Mila Davis-Kent in Creed III, making her film acting debut.”

Parallel to all this, Amazon subsidiary MGM has greenlit a Drago spin-off movie involving Rocky Balboa’s iconic Russian nemesis Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) and his heavyweight professional boxer son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu).
Munteanu’s Viktor Drago was first introduced as an adversary of Jordan’s Adonis Creed in the first sequel, before becoming allies in the latest instalment.
The Deadline trio adds: “There had been some chatter that the Drago offshoot could lend itself to a series but, according to sources, the intention remains to keep it as a movie. So far, a script has been commissioned, but it is unclear whether it would get made.”
Of course, not everyone is thrilled about the direction of the Rocky/Creed saga, let alone a fully-fledged Creed Cinematic Universe.
As some of you may recall, back in July 2022, when the Drago spin-off was initially announced, it drew the ire of Sylvester Stallone himself.
Essentially, the man who created and brought Rocky Balboa apparently has “zero ownership” of the IP. And as you can imagine, he ain’t too happy about it.
“Another heartbreaker… Just found this out… Once again, this PATHETIC 94-year-old producer [Irwin Winkler] and his moronic useless vulture children, Charles and David, are once again picking clean the BONES of another wonderful character I created without even telling me,” Sylvester Stallone expressed via Instagram.
“I apologise to the fans, I never wanted Rocky characters to be exploited by these parasites.”

“By the way, I have nothing but respect for Dolph [Lundgren] but I wish he had told me what was going on behind my back. Keep your REAL friends close.”
Prior to this, Stallone alluded to this very frustration in a slightly less incendiary fashion.
“After Irwin controlling Rocky for over 47 years, and now Creed, I really would like to have at least a little [of] WHAT’S LEFT of my rights back, before passing it on to ONLY YOUR CHILDREN.”
It’s little wonder why Sly decided he wanted nothing to do with Creed III.
