Netflix is blurring the lines between your late-night streaming habits by releasing an NSFW documentary about the one and only Pornhub appropriately titled Money Shot: The Pornhub Story.
Featuring interviews with performers, activists, and even the company’s past employees, the forthcoming documentary is a deep dive into Pornhub’s successes – i.e. billions of dollars in revenue, an unrivalled global audience on their platform, becoming synonymous with adult entertainment – and scandals – i.e. furthering the monopoly of parent company MindGeek, profiting from human trafficking, non-consensual material, child material).

As per Netflix’s own official description:
Pornhub, the internet’s most famous adult entertainment platform, fundamentally changed how pornography is made and distributed. This enabled erotic content creators to reach a massive audience while the company made billions of dollars…
… but it also became embroiled in allegations including non-consensual material and trafficking on the site. As anti-trafficking organisations seek justice for victims, can the online giant protect those from whom they profit, or is this a new wave of censorship for adult performers making consensual porn?
“This documentary requires us to grapple with what sexuality and consent means when billion-dollar internet platforms thrive on user-generated content,” explained Suzanne Hillinger, director and producer of Money Shot: The Pornhub Story.

Netflix’s saucy social & cultural doco has been executive produced by Stacey Offman and Richard Perello. Jigsaw Productions’ Nicki Carrico serves as producer with Erin Edeiken as supervising producer, Iris Ng as director of photography, and Alexis Johnson as editor.
