The half-decade wait is almost over, and to reassure us that Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is still on the way, Sony Pictures has now dropped a full-length trailer.
Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) returns for the next chapter of the Academy Award-winning animated saga. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy / Ghost-Spider (Hailee Steinfeld), Brooklyn’s full-time friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse where – similar to the events of the first film – he encounters an entire team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

“But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat,” according to the official synopsis provided by Sony Pictures.
“Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”
Based on the footage we’ve glimpsed in the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse trailer above – as well as the footage we’ve glimpsed prior to today – Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy comes into direct conflict with fellow Spider-Person, Miguel O’Hara / Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), who some of you may recall was featured in the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Moore, Steinfeld, and Isaac are (re)joined by the likes of Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker / Spider-Man, Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ father and cop Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Mile’s mother and nurse Rio Morales, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Hobart “Hobie” Brown / Spider-Punk, plus Jason Schwartzman as Spot – a man whose body is covered with interdimensional portals.
While this highly-anticipated sequel has been helmed by a different trio of directors this time around – Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin. K Thompson – the screenplay has once again been achieved by Phil Lord (Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, The LEGO Movie, 21 & 22 Jump Street), alongside his longtime creative partner Christopher Miller (exact same resume) and veteran MCU scribe David Callaham (Ant-Man, Shang-Chi & The Legend of the Ten Rings).
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse hits cinemas on June 1st of 2023 – check out the trailer above,
