With three entirely laughable franchise continuations officially in post-production – those being Fast X, Meg 2: The Trench, The Expendables 4 – and his latest collaboration with Guy Ritchie finally seeing the light of day, career tough guy Jason Statham has already lined up his next gig with The Beekeeper.
Directed by David Ayer, the creative famed for helming End of Watch and Fury while also having penned Training Day and the first Fast & Furious, the forthcoming action flick has been written by Kurt Wimmer (The Thomas Crown Affair, Equilibrium, The Recruit).
And before you say anything, yes… we’re aware this article has quickly become a name-dropping affair, but keep in mind that’s pretty much most of entertainment journalism.

According to Deadline, the film will “… chart the story of how one man’s brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after he is revealed to be a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organisation known as the ‘Beekeepers.’” Kinda like Wrath of Man. The Stathman’s character, of course, being the titular Beekeeper.
Jason Statham is joined by the likes of Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Josh Hutcherson. Producers include Bill Block (Wrath Of Man) for Miramax, Chris Long for Cedar Park Studios, plus Statham and Wimmer. Â
While production is already well underway over in the UK with distribution rights already snapped up by both Sky and MGM, The Beekeeper does not yet have a confirmed release date.
