In San Diego for Comic-Con, Tom Cruise surprised the audience by unveiling the trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, the direct sequel to 1986’s Top Gun.
Set 34 years later, Cruise reprises his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a now flight instructor at Topgun who is teaching the son of his late buddy Nick “Goose” Bradshaw and participating in all the things “Maverick” enjoys, like playing volleyball, riding motorcycles, and of course flying.
The trailer doesn’t give away much of the plot, which is great, but gives away just enough action to have audiences waiting with bated breath for the 2020 release. Enjoy the trailer below.
