The July instalment of Red Bull’s monthly Sound Select series has just gone on record to reveal that both Slum Sociable and Jontiare to headline their coming July show. Additionally, local act 30/70 and Bus Vipers are set to join this delicious affair in Melbourne and Sydney.
Slum Sociable has been making waves recently, getting the nod from the likes of Beats 1, BBC Radio 1, as well as Pigeons & Planes. Jonti has been no less busy either, a touring member of The Avalanches, and having worked with such household names as Gotye, Mark Ronson, and Badbadnotgood.
Curated by Travis Banko, the man responsible for programming Laneway Festival, this Sound Select is dedicated to the celebration of kaleidoscopic soul. As indicative by the name, this comes with an array of handpicked artists in the line-up that blend genres ranging from hip-hop, r&b, to electronica, and everything else in between to create a truly next level auditory experience.
This night of contemporary sound manifest promises to be one for the books, woven and laced with textured beats, funkadelic grooves, and hypnotic rhythms.
The date to save is July 27th in Melbourne, and July 28th in Sydney. The places to be? The John Curtin Hotel, Carlton and Lansdowne Hotel, Chippendale.
