It was really only a matter of time before mega-successful Canadian artist, The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye), announced the Australian and New Zealand leg for his ongoing After Hours Til Dawn global stadium tour.
Set for late November and early December, the ‘Blinding Lights’ singer is scheduled to play several shows across both countries, showing love to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland. It was originally just going to be four shows but inevitably high demand has pushed for more.
If his current tour is anything to go by, tickets may be tough to get your hands on when they officially go on sale at staggered times from Friday, September 1st.

Given this is one of the bigger tour announcements of the year, I imagine more shows should be added to meet demand. After all, The Weeknd’s global stadium run has been shattering records this year — including the setting of a new attendance record at London Stadium with 160,000 fans split across two nights.
Mike Dean — who is responsible for many of Kanye West’s greatest productions; recently appeared on Tesfaye’s critically derided HBO series The Idol — will be on support duties across all dates alongside singer Chxrry22, who signed with The Weeknd’s XO Records earlier this year.
