UPDATE [27/04/2023]: Following yesterday’s cryptic return to social media, Netflix has already pulled the trigger on a Black Mirror season 6 announcement, confirming the series will return in June with a new teaser trailer featuring cast members Salma Hayek and Aaron Paul.
Following a three-year break, Charlie Brooker’s complex and deeply disturbing sci-fi anthology will once again tell some provocative stories of out-of-control tech (we assume generative AI will play a big role) and societal ills, bumped by not just Hayek and Paul, but a strong list of new cast members including Annie Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera and Rory Culkin.
The official announcement promises Black Mirror season 6 “is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet” for the series
Charlie Brooker will return as writer and showrunner for the series alongside Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Bisha K. Ali serving as executive producers.

Original Article – ‘Black Mirror’ Season 6 Seemingly Confirmed By Cryptic Tweet
Engaging with Twitter is an easy way to drive yourself insane, yet the endlessly controversial and divisive social media platform still has some utility. Especially when official accounts use it as a marketing tool. And that’s exactly what has happened with Netflix’s Black Mirror, hinting strongly at an official season 6 announcement for the famously cerebral sci-fi show with the property’s official Twitter account breaking radio silence for the first time since 2019.
Consider it a teaser announcement, if you will. And it’s a rather cryptic one at that. But this is, after all, a show that lives or dies on obfuscation and ambiguity. A simple tweet to seemingly announce one’s return to public consciousness is entirely in-line with what Black Mirror is all about, doubly so when you consider the show co-creator, Charlie Brooker, was one of the first to reply with a ‘thinking’ emoji.
Speculation about Black Mirror season 6 has officially gone into overdrive as a result. We all knew it was coming eventually, but this social media post popping up randomly reiterates that we are seemingly close to an official announcement from Netflix.
what have we missed?

As per Empire, we already know that Netflix has commissioned a sixth season of the beloved series, which was originally created by Charlie Brooker with substantial input from executive producer Annabel Jones back in 2011. That much was confirmed last year, although with little go on beyond suggestions that new Black Mirror cast members included Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Zazie Beetz (Joker), Paapa Essideu (I May Destroy You), Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbour), Kate Mara (House of Cards), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe) and Salma Hayek (From Dusk Till Dawn).
We also know that Black Mirror season 6 will feature more episodes than the usual three to six that fans are used to. Beyond that, we’ll keep you updated once we know more.
