Britain’s second-most nauseating export, James Corden, officially signs off from The Late Late Show on April 27th.
The farewell special will reportedly deliver sketches, musical numbers (because of course it will), as well as special guests in spades. According to Collider, one confirmed segment entails Corden and Tom Cruise in an “epic musical performance during The Lion King ” at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre.
“This will be my last year hosting The Late Late Show,” James Corden announced during a Late Late Show monologue back in April 2022.
“When I started this journey, it was always going to be just that. It was going to be a journey – an adventure. I never saw it as my final destination, you know? And I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way.”

“I always want to love making it. And I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there.”
“In my two years at CBS, I’ve had the privilege to see James’ creative genius up close and experience his valuable partnership with CBS, both as a performer and a producer,” said CBS President & CEO George Cheeks via statement.
“We wish he could stay longer, but we are very proud he made CBS his American home and that this partnership will extend one more season on The Late Late Show.”
James Corden has served as the host of The Late Late Show since 2015, succeeding the beloved Craig Ferguson. His most prominent cultural contributions between now and then – aside from being a right dick to hospitality workers – have included everything from Carpool Karaoke to Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.
Mark your calendars: April 27th, 2023.
