Taylor Sheridan, busiest man in television, looks to have another hit on his hands based on the first trailer for Landman.
This latest streaming project co-created alongside Christian Wallace (and based on his podcast series Boomtown) delves into the economic and geopolitical impacts of Texas’ oil business; it’s the kind of rugged drama that Sheridan excels at — complete with blue collar rig workers trying to make an honest living and money-hungry men in business rooms vying for more power

Landman stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a crisis executive (read: fixer) for an oil company. Considering how dangerous this line of work is, it seems he has his work cut out for him. Thornton is joined by Ali Larter as Tommy’s ex-wife Angela, along with Jon Hamm as a high-power oil exec, and Demi Moore as the latter’s wife.
Since 2018, Sheridan has launched the acclaimed cattle ranching drama Yellowstone and its prequel spinoffs 1883 and 1923; he’s created the small-town gangster series Tulsa King, which stars Sylvester Stallone and recently returned for its second season. There’s also the crime-drama Mayor of Kingstown and CIA thriller Special Ops: Lioness. And that’s not including any of his feature film work, either.

Most impressively, despite working on so many properties simultaneously, Sheridan has managed to knock out way more hits than misses, which makes the anticipation for Landman all the more exciting. Even if this is just “Yellowstone But With Oil.”
The first two episodes of Landman will premiere on November 18th, exclusive via Paramount+. The following episodes will be streamed weekly — check out the trailer above.
