Formula 1 may be the most visible motorsport in pop culture, but the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) has an impassioned — if smaller — following.

Relentlessly intense and famously demanding of drivers, the WRC is set to debut its Drive To Survive-style docuseries More Than Machine this week.

The new series will follow the UK-based Ford factory-backed M-Sport outfit, which is one of the most successful teams in rally history. Following the enormous popularity of Drive To Survive, producer Superlative Studios wants to bring a never-before-seen perspective to the competition format.

“We’re thrilled to share More Than Machine with our global audience, as well as soon-to-be fans,” says Jona Siebel, Managing Director of WRC Promoter.

“This series showcases the real essence of rallying, highlighting not just the incredible machinery but also the extraordinary people who push them to their limits. It’s a celebration of our sport and a fascinating insight into the spirit of competition.”

Those behind More Than Machine hope the series will offer a spectator and viewership boost to the sport, which saw its peak around the turn of the millennium.

The six-episode series is now streaming exclusively on WRC’s official YouTube channel.
