On February 4, Travis Kauffman was attacked and mauled by a mountain lion while trail running in northern Colorado.
Unlike most tales of mountain lion attacks (most of which never get their chance to be told) this one was recounted in a chilling interview with Kauffman by Colorado Parks & Wildlife.
The 31-year-old American encountered a kill-or-be-killed scenario in Horsetooth Mountain Park in which he managed to overpower an attacking mountain lion with his bare hands and suffocate it to death.
CPW officer Mark Leslie quoted in an official statement;
Kauffman sat down with Colorado Parks & Wildlife to discuss his ordeal in the confronting video below. Viewer discretion is advised.
