When Arnold Schwarzenegger assured audiences that he’d be back, we had no idea he was referring to Netflix’s eight-episode spy caper series Fubar.
Following in the relatively recent footsteps of fellow 80s stars Sylvester Stallone and Harrison Ford, the Governator portrays Luke Brenner – a veteran CIA operative posing as a regular guy who discovers that his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) has also been undercover for years. When their assignments converge, it becomes a “high-stakes yet relatable” father-daughter clash that complicates a dangerous global mission… as well as their already complicated family dynamic.
“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies. Well, here it is,” said Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also executive produces, via statement.

“Fubar will kick your ass and make you laugh –– and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.”
Showrunner, executive producer, and former The Sopranos writer Nick Santora added: “Fubar is, by far, the most surreal project of my career. I grew up watching Arnold Schwarzenegger films –– I’d hit my dad up for a few bucks so I could race to the movies and see the biggest star in the world on the big screen –– so creating the first scripted television project for Arnold is unbelievably exciting for me.”
“The thing I always marvelled at was how Schwarzenegger could be funny while still kicking ass… that’s why I wanted Fubar to be a hysterical, CIA-spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action!”
Schwarzenegger and Barbaro are joined by Jay Baruchel as Carter, Aparna Brielle as Tina, Andy Buckley as Donnie, Milan Carter as Barry, Fortune Feimster as Ruth (or Roo), Barbara Eve Harris as Dot, Gabriel Luna as Boro, Fabiana Udenio as Tally, plus Travis Van Winkle as Aldon.
