When it comes to the most-talked-about shows, Netflix certainly bats above the average. And the streamer’s next potential homerun appears to be The Perfect Couple, which has already been described as “brilliantly addictive” by critics.
Adapted from the 2018 best-selling Elin Hilderbrand novel of the same name, the forthcoming murder-mystery miniseries opens with bride Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), who is about the marry into Nantucket’s wealthiest family through son Benji Winbury (Billy Howle) — much to the disapproval of matriarch and famed novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman).

When a dead body is found on the beach of the Winbury’s property, these otherwise pedestrian familial tensions are examined in painful (and somewhat hilarious) detail. Before long, cracks in the facade begin to appear and the dark secrets everyone harbours reveal themselves.
The cast also features Liev Schreiber as family patriarch Tag Winbury, Dakota Fanning as sister Abby Winbury, Meghann Fahy (and The White Lotus alum) as Amelia’s best friend Merritt Monaco, along with Ishaan Khattar as Benji’s best friend Shooter Dival.

You can also expect Jack Reynor and Sam Nivola as brothers Thomas and Will Winbury, respectively, Isabelle Adjani as family friend Isabel Nallet, Donna Lynne Champlin as Detective Nikki Henry, Omar Epps as Chief of Police Dan Carter, Nick Searcy as Deputy Carl, plus Mia Isaac as the chief’s daughter Chloe Carter.
Of course, the eyebrow-raising talent hasn’t been limited to those appearing in front of the camera. With the multi-hyphenate Jenna Lamia (Good Girls) serving as showrunner and Academy Award + Emmy Award-winning Danish director Susanne Bier onboard (The Night Manager, The Undoing, Bird Box)… this feels like it’s been in safe hands.
