In just a matter of weeks, we’ve gone from being confined within our homes to receiving confirmation international travel was back on the cards, and coming back with a vengeance. Yes, it’s that time of the year again, folks. The Amazing Race Australia applications are back open for 2022.

“Be part of an incredible opportunity to travel around the world on the adventure of a lifetime with your favourite person,” reads the application’s landing page.

“Win a huge cash prize – casting is only open for a matter of weeks and shortlisting has begun so apply now!”

While the cash prize in question hasn’t been explicitly outlined, for reference, the 2020 season paid out a hefty sum of $250,000.

And as we’ve stated on a previous occasion, those of you seriously considering should be warned. The application process is a pretty extensive one. Not in the same way applying for a gig with the Department of Defence is extensive, but somewhere between a Tinder bio and essay to secure a uni scholarship – complete with a video introduction and some reference photos for obvious and borderline superficial reasons. Television is a visual medium, after all.

Non-negotiable conditions you’ll need to meet are as follows:

  1. Be over the age of 18.
  2. Be in a team of two people.
  3. Be fully vaccinated for travel.
  4. And be available for filming starting from February 2022 (minimum of four weeks – up to seven weeks if you go on to win).
