On the same day Yellowstone season 5 is scheduled to premiere with a blockbuster two-hour event, Paramount+ has decided to drop the very first teaser trailer for the hotly-anticipated Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren-led prequel series: Yellowstone 1923.

Exploring the early twentieth century when different pandemics, a historic drought, the end of Prohibition, as well as the Great Depression all plagued the mountain west, this latest entry to Taylor Sheridan’s franchise follows the grandparents of patriarch and renowned rural hard-ass, John Dutton (Kevin Costner).

“Violence has always followed this family from the Scottish Highlands to the slums of Dublin, and it followed us here,” a voiceover can be heard saying in the Yellowstone 1923 trailer, cutting between various scenes of hostility, i.e. gunfights and brawls.

“Where it doesn’t follow, we hunt it down. We seek it.”

The preview ends with a close-up shot of Ford’s Jacob Dutton as he takes aim with a rifle, before staring right down the barrel of the camera with that signature grizzled smoulder.

In addition to Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, here’s a quick breakdown of every other major player you can expect…
