International football star Cristiano Ronaldo has teamed up with Italia Independent to launch CR7, his very own line of sunglasses. The result of a year-plus worth of design efforts, these sunnies will range from classic silhouettes in “subdued hues” to bolder and more colourful retro-style offerings.
“I was able to appreciate the exceptional and unique values that he represents on and off the pitch even more,” says Lapo Elkann, Italia Independent Founder & Creative Director.
“Passion, determination, and high attention to detail are further confirmation that the symbol of world football is always one step ahead… It has been a great honour working together with Cristiano to design and develop the models that are now available on the digital channel.”
This first release will feature a collection of seven distinct styles – a reference to Ronaldo’s jersey number – each one rich with detail. Sunglasses can be sorted into three categories: metal, acetate, and TR90 injected plastic.
Sporting a number “7” in the frame, CR7 logo on the temple, and laser-imprinted signature in the corner of the lens, there are five colour variants for each style. Prices range from US$79 to US$150.
Despite being available for purchase in over 70 countries, the Cristiano Ronaldo CR7 sunglasses currently do not ship to Australia – yet. But you can check them out over at cr7-eyewear.com.
