Sick of your current daily grind? You’ll be happy to hear Mattel is now offering quite a unique change of vocation that pays pretty damn well: Chief UNO Player.
Following in a long line of corporate marketing gimmicks a la Jose Cuervo and Dodge, this dream-tier job opening has been designed to promote the famed toymaker’s brand-new game, UNO Quatro. And four really is the magic number here.
Not only are the working hours outlined four hours a day for four days a week, across the extremely limited career lifespan of four weeks in total (dates and time subject to change), but you’re also looking at a weekly salary of US$4,444.44. Or AU$6,750.

“We’re bringing the unpredictable, friendship-building (or destroying) fun of UNO games to life in a whole new way with our UNO Quatro family game — a classic four-in-a-row challenge with a twist — and we need your help to get the word out,” reads the official listing.
“We’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate about throwing down a Draw 4 as they are engaging strangers in a game. Someone who knows how to play a reverse and likes to get WILD (in a nice-ish way). Is that you?”
So what exactly does the gig entail?

As per the description — and the job title itself — challenging strangers to play UNO in public will obviously be at the very forefront of your professional duties; as well as create and star in social media for various UNO games.
Applicants must:
- “Be comfortable with interviews and appearances.”
- “Be able to teach strangers how to play the game in an engaging way.”
- “Be able to sit for long periods, lift and carry 50 pounds, and set up playing tables + tents on location.”
… as well as being over the age of 18 and US-based. Sorry, rest of the world. Unfortunately, this one’s another Yank exclusive.
The deadline to apply for the role of Mattel’s Chief UNO Player is August 10th. Find out more below (and apply via TikTok).
