YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul (6-1) has suffered his first professional loss at the hands of Tommy Fury (9-0) via split decision at Diriyah Arena, Saudi Arabia – potentially multiplying the latter’s net worth tenfold.

What is Tommy Fury’s net worth?

Prior to his fight against Jake Paul, Tommy Fury had a net worth of approximately £1 million ($1.76 million), thanks to a combination of his boxing career as a professional light-heavyweight and – yes – reality TV appearances on the likes of Love Island.

Since 2020, for example, the 23-year-old has apparently been earning roughly US$3,000 (AU$4,400) per day via social media with various brand promotions and sponsorships.

After his fight against Jake Paul, Tommy Fury’s net worth is anywhere between US$6.5 million (AU$9.5 million) and US$13 million (AU$19 million). More on this later,

By comparison, older half-brother and boxing heavyweight great, Tyson Fury, has a surprisingly conservative estimated net worth of US$65 million (AU$95.3 million).

How much did Tommy Fury make from the Jake Paul fight?

According to Sports Daily, Tommy Fury reportedly earned US$2 million (AU$2.9 million) for his 8-rounder against Jake Paul.

With a 35% pay-per-view share, the payout comes to US$4.5 million (AU$6.6 million).

So how exactly does this 10x his net worth?

During the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury press conference, in typical fashion, Paul upped the stakes with an all-or-nothing wager:

“I think we make a deal then, since you’re so confident. If you win, I’ll pay you double what I’m paying you already. But if I win, I take everything that I’m paying you.”

After an initial bit of hesitation punctuated by the brash encouragement of father John Fury, the deal was sealed with a begrudging handshake.

Given nothing was issued in writing, however, whether all this will actually be honoured remains to be seen.
