It finally happened. It was only a matter of time. The Winklevoss twins, both Tyler and Cameron, have just joined the big B cult club. And I’m not talking about billionaires, either. (Bitcoin. I’m talking about Bitcoin. Was I too subtle or– no? OK then.)

For those of you who aren’t quite sure where you’ve heard the name ‘Winklevoss’ before, you probably know them from being played by Armie Hammer in The Social Network, suing Mark Zuckerberg over stealing their idea for Facebook in real life (and earning a settlement of $65 million USD), and rowing in the Beijing Olympics. In that order. Yes, I’m well aware that their bio sounds as made up as a movie characters’. And there’s two of them

Well it appears they’ve been putting their settlement money to good use, given the recent news of their wealth status, having invested quite a bit in the rising e-currency. Although they have refused to reveal exact numbers, in terms of investment and returns, reports are indicating their stakes are currently around 100,000 coins.

Despite having made a meteoric rise into the mainstream, the e-currency’s volatility makes the future of Winklevoss’ wealth uncertain (Winklevi?). But this sure as Hell a whole lot better than a $65 million settlement sum.
