Melbourne’s Affordable Art Fair Returns With Works Starting From $100

• The acclaimed Affordable Art Fair is making its way back to Melbourne for the culture capital’s fifth annual edition in 2025.
• Showcasing thousands of original artworks for sale, priced from $100 to $10,000, this event is once again being held under the World Heritage-listed dome of the Royal Exhibition Building.
• This year’s Melbourne Affordable Art Fair takes place across four sensational days (from August 28th to 31st), with single-day adult tickets for approximately $30.

As daunting and hermetically sealed as the world of art collecting may seem, there’s really not that much to it beyond knowing your own taste and having the requisite cash (the whole art investment game, however, is another beast entirely).

That’s essentially been the philosophy behind the Affordable Art Fair for over two decades now, which returns to Melbourne this week to exhibit a wide variety of original and contemporary works priced from an extremely accessible $100 all the way to $10,000.

Showcasing a mixture of established and emerging Australian talents (in addition to a smattering of international names), whether you’re a lover of landscapes, smitten with sculpture, or an adorer of abstracts, this is the perfect occasion to ditch the Pulp Fiction posters and elevate your own spaces.

“The 2025 Melbourne Fair will be the largest and most ambitious we’ve held in Australia, which is a testament to the growing popularity and accessibility of the event,” said Melbourne Fair Director Georgia Heustis.

Heustis added how the Brisbane iteration of the Affordable Art Fair, which occurred this past May, set new attendance records, while the forthcoming Sydney edition (scheduled for early November) has moved to Redfern’s Carriageworks just to “accommodate more art lovers.”

“It’s a welcoming and vibrant space where art buyers can learn more about each piece, talk to gallerists, watch artists in action, hear from experts, and immerse themselves in an array of styles, genres, and mediums.”

“We know that visitors appreciate that every piece at the Fair is the work of a living artist, every artwork on display lists a sale price, and every piece can be bought, wrapped, and taken home to hang and cherish on the same day.”

Melbourne’s 2025 Affordable Art Fair officially opens on the evening of Thursday, August 28th (5 PM to 9 PM) at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. General Entry tickets begin at around $30, with a full four-day pass priced at just under $50 and free admission for children below the age of 16.
