Periods of down time come far and few for a man like Giorgio Armani. But the luxury fashion house founder-CEO always seems to find time for Saint-Tropez somewhere between having a net worth of $8.1 billion USD and being haute couture royalty. “[F]our or five weekends in late June and July…”, to be exact. So it would only make sense for an individual of his means and lifestyle to have a summer house by the Mediterranean coastline.
Armani’s Saint-Tropez digs has been described as modest in comparison to his other homes. Though how many private structures can truly compete with his “… sprawling compounds on the rocky Sicilian island of Pantelleria…”, or even his “… cliff-hanging retreat in Antigua…”? Regardless, we prefer to think of it as more elegantly understated. A structural answer to the locale’s relaxed ethos.
