We thought weโd switch it up this week and leave the sunkissed shores of Rose Bay behind for one of Melbourneโs most opulent suburbs. This decision was a good one, as we quickly came across Toorakโs โPalmillaโ โ a captivating property with all the usual trappings one might expect of a Melbourne mansion.
Palmilla is 2284 square-metres of unparalleled luxury. The home is reminiscent of 1930โs architecture but has been renovated incessantly in order to maintain an aesthetic of antiquated opulence. This design style emphasises the use of marble, iron, and glass in nearly every room. A unique collection of bespoke furniture and unique antiques are accurately scattered throughout these massive living spaces.
The perks of this house can be seen within moments upon entering the property. Beginning with the outside, oneโs attention is immediately taken by the beauty of the landscaped grounds. Arguably the most impressive greenery in Palmilla is the sprawling tennis court, whose bright green is tempered by the deep blue of the modest yet beautiful pool.
But what makes this property a clear favourite of ours is the massive ten car garage. Weโd have no problem filling that space with a nice roster of the finest vehicles to match one of the finest homes on the market.
Moving inside, beyond the excellent reception room, living spaces, and gigantic bedrooms, one will find a home cinema, billiards room and bar, and a stunning Carrara marble kitchen. And in order to keep the chilly Melbourne winters at bay, previous owners have had heated floors and zoned hydronic heating installed. How kind of them.
Talking about it doesnโt really do it justice, so weโll shut up and let the pictures do the speaking. How much would you ballpark this pad for? Itโs said to be going for anywhere between $27-29 million bucks and is being marketed by Kay & Burton.
If this much fancy isnโt your thing, check out this Bondi penthouse for another instalment of our โOn The Marketโ series.
