World-renowned architecture firm Snøhetta has turned the minds of its designers to the creation of a cluster of luxury cabins, overlooking the spectacular Lysefjorden in Norway. Created in partnership with Danish interior brand Vipp, the quartet of residences known as The Bolder project has been designed to offer guests a unique perspective on the Norwegian landscape, blurring the lines between inside and out as they integrate with their surroundings.
If you think you’ve heard the name Snøhetta before, that’s because the architecture firm has been responsible for dozens of world-class builds in recent years, including the world’s largest underwater restaurant in the village of Båly in Norway, a dramatic bath complex in Knubben Harbor and the yet-to-be-completed resort on the Greek island of Skorpios backed by Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev. While The Bolder is a project of a slightly smaller scale, no less attention to detail has been given, with the timber cabins clad in red cedar and the interior lined with oak.
Each of the four cabins – known as Stylten, Myra, Stjerna, and Eldhuset – features a double bedroom and bathroom, as well as common areas on a separate floor that deliver unparalleled views out across the chilly waters below. Designed to offer guests the experience of being tucked away in a cozy wooden nest protected from the elements, the cabins are now available to the public to enjoy for a special week away or even just a few days to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city.
