These days, more often than not, I find myself recalling the immortal words of Jeff Goldblum’s Dr Ian Malcolm: who chastitised the scientists of Jurassic Park for being so preoccupied with whether or not they “could”, that they didn’t stop to consider whether they “should”.
That’s basically how I reacted when the announcement of Curly Lewis’ margarita-beer hybrid, El Tequileno Lagerita, crossed the Boss Hunting news desk this morning.
Arriving just in time for International Margarita Day (February 22nd) at Bondi’s Curly Lewis Brewing Co, this potent straight-off-the-tap session fuel is comprised of a Curly Lewis El Gringo Cerveza base, mixed with a Tommy’s Margarita in collaboration with El Tequileno Tequila.

“We are constantly working on new beer releases at the tap room and love experimenting with brews that will make for refreshing beach-side drinking,” explained Oliver dos Remedios, Co-Founder of Curly Lewis.
“Mexican-style lagers are having a moment, and the Tommy’s Margarita has become a fan-favourite across bars across the country. Our El Tequileno Lagerita is the love child of the two and the ultimate beer for a lively Bondi crowd.”
International Margarita Day will also kick off Curly Lewis’s Taco Nights, which will run every Thursday from 4 PM. Enjoy two tacos — of the cheeseburger, salt & pepper squid, pulled pork, and or vegan wild mushroom variety — for $10 along with $15 margaritas and, of course, El Tequileno Lagerita.
