- Dan Murphy’s Best in Glass Wine Awards have named the winners for its 2025 edition (all of which are pleasingly priced under $50).
- Selected from a pool of 700 different bottles, all wines were required to be available across Australia to ensure both accessibility and affordability.
- South Australia produced the most locally made winners with 13 bottles awarded, followed by Victoria with eight and Western Australia with four.
Great wine doesn’t have to break the bank, as confirmed by Dan Murphy’s inaugural Best in Glass Wine Awards
A celebration of the finest bottles under $50 in Australia, the awards saw more than 700 wines tasted, with 46 winners crowned across reds, whites, sparklings, rosés, and alternative styles. Each category included an accolade for Best, Best Value, and Best International in a refreshing departure from the usual wine show chaos of endless medals, double medals, and technical scores.

South Australia led the local charge, accounting for more than a quarter of all winners thanks to strong showings from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and Clare Valley. Victoria followed closely behind, boosted by the cool climate gems of Yarra Valley and King Valley, while Margaret River helped Western Australia tie for top regional honours alongside Barossa and Yarra.
Tasmania, as expected, dominated the sparkling wine categories with appearances from Janz, Devil’s Corner, and Clover Hill. While on the global front, France absolutely cleaned up – taking nine of the 12 Best International titles with the likes of Côtes-du-Rhône, Champagne, and Bordeaux flying the flag as foreign favourites.
Designed to make choosing the right bottle easier for everyone, the Best in Glass Wine Awards offer a straightforward guide without the hermetically-sealed terminology and elitist gatekeeping – check out the complete run of 2025 winners below.
