The latest prestige innovation from French playmakers Grey Goose has launched in Australia to elevate any occasion. Grey Goose Altius is 700ml of French flair bottled in its purest form yet and is now available to try at a limited series of venues around the country. The brand’s dedicated martini bar in Melbourne is one of them—but more on that later.

Both literally and figuratively, Grey Goose Altius sets a new ceiling for the quintessential French vodka. The alpine water in Grey Goose Altius begins its journey in the clouds atop Europe’s highest peaks before winding through crystalline rocks to a pristine, pure alkaline aquifer. It’s then filtered at -24°C alongside soft winter wheat grown in and around the Picardy region, just northeast of Paris.

As the brand poetically emphasises, these high-altitude temperatures, combined with subtle hints of minerality and green apple, result in a “glacially smooth taste and velvety mouthfeel”.

Grey Goose Altius at Melbourne’s Le Martini Bar

Every bottle of Grey Goose Altius—which has been hand-bottled and individually numbered—heroes the imagery of windswept mountains, icy blue skies, and geese soaring at sky-high altitudes.

To begin with, Grey Goose Altius will be an on-premise-only offering at a handful of the East Coast’s most renowned and excitable late-night establishments. Le Martini – the world’s first standalone Grey Goose bar dedicated to its namesake at Crown Melbourne (which we’ve highlighted previously) has brought in the big guns to give Grey Goose Altius the superhero landing it deserves.

The vodka powerhouse has partnered with one of the world’s most influential bartenders, Giorgio Bargiani, to curate a new bespoke martini menu exclusively available at Le Martini.

On the roster is the mixologist’s own ‘Altius N5’—a complex and fragrant martini with Altius as its backbone and named after the timeless scent, Chanel N°5. You’ll also be able to try Bargiani’s apricot and cocoa spin on the iconic “Vesper” martini, made famous by James Bond in Casino Royale.

Le Martini is open from 5 pm, Wednesday to Sunday, for pre-dinner cocktails, a nightcap, or whatever your evening prescribes. You’ll find it on the ground floor of Crown Melbourne.
