Johnnie Walker is capping off its John Walker & Sons Private Collection the best way it knows how; with a limited edition 28-year-old “Midnight” blend.
The Private Collection has been producing speciality, limited release, small-batch whiskies since 2014 using the casks of Johnnie Walker reserves. For number five in the series and its grand finale, Johnnie Walker produced just 3,888 individually numbered decanters of the smooth and indulgent Scotch whisky “Midnight”.
Master Blender Jim Beveridge worked with fellow blender Craig Wallace to hand-select the few whiskies that would make up the blend. The whiskies blended into Midnight come from the four corners of Scotland and each provide a unique flavour to the drop, which has hints of fruit, sweet, and spice. Envisioned to be served as an opulent after dinner nightcap, the blenders recommend serving it neat, but in reality, you can drink whisky however the hell you choose.
As the sun sets on the John Walker & Sons Private Collection, we’re left with the exceptional Midnight, retailing for a recommended $1000 per bottle.
