  • Branching out from high-end home entertainment products, Loewe has launched its first espresso machine: the aura.pure.
  • Combining sleek design and engineering, this bean-to-cup coffee machine promises “barista-quality espresso” with an easy-to-use interface.
  • The Loewe aura.pure will retail for $3,999 in Australia.

A new contender has stepped into the ring of high-end coffee machines, from a somewhat unlikely source.

Loewe, a luxury German brand that is predominately known for its range of well-engineered home entertainment options, has launched the aura.pure — a coffee machine that combines “elegant design and perfect barista quality espresso.”

That cup of coffee will, however, come at a considerable premium — the Loewe aura.pure coffee machine is set to retail for $3,999 here in Australia.

Aesthetically, this machine has the precision you’d expect from Loewe. Its sleek body is crafted from high-quality matt steel, while its base and handles are accented with pure red oak finishes. As for use, this machine’s functionality looks to be as clean as its design.

If you’re the kind of person who has to claw their way to some coffee before you start the day, simplicity is the name of the game with this compact bean-to-cup espresso machine: it comes with a fairly user-friendly interface that’s comprised of a few buttons and a small LCD display that’ll let you tweak settings in no time.

The aura.pure includes an integrated conical burr grinder with 66 settings, along with programmable pre-infusion soak settings and a 15-bar pressure pump for your coffee grounds. This gives you plenty of options when it comes to brewing a cup that caters to your exact preference for extraction and flavour.

It also uses separate fast-acting and precise thermoblocks for coffee extraction and milk frothing, which should be ready to go within two minutes and will maintain temperatures between 88 to 96°C.

Included with the aura.pure are two portafilters and a tamper (both accented with wooden handles), along with a stainless steel 350ml milk pitcher that features the same basalt grey finish as the machine.
