  • South Australian winery Millon Wines has just released its own Christmas advent calendar.
  • The ’12 Nights of Wine’ consists of a dozen of the brand’s signature bottles, sourced from vineyards in the Barossa, Clare, and Eden Valleys.
  • Priced at $299 (with a retail value of $325), you’ll be able to purchase this alcohol-fueled advent calendar online starting on November 11th.

Now that we’re firmly into the first week of November, the unspoken laws of festive season mean that gift recommendations, Michael Bublé covers, and advent calendars are all things publishers are allowed (some might even say encouraged) to start promoting.

As far as the latter category goes, South Australian winery Millon Wines has gotten an early lead with this ’12 Nights of Wine’ calendar. Essentially, it’ll allow you to count the days before Santa’s arrival with a dozen different vinous drops.

Unsurprisingly, the whole set also makes for a worthy gift option: particularly for those friends and members of your family who have the (un)enviable task of hosting during Christmas 2024. Lucky them.

According to reps of Millon Wines itself, the brand’s advent calendar “represents our passion for winemaking and the diverse flavours of our wine regions.”

In similar fashion to a number of other grapey advent calendars released this time of year, ’12 Nights of Wine’ gives drinkers a working knowledge of the whole Millon Wines portfolio. These include the terroir-centric bottles of the ‘Clare’s Secret’ range; ‘Impressionist’ wines delivering a high quality-to-price ratio; and, at the top end, what the winery refers to as its ‘Estate’ range.

Between the entire case of goodies, all of your classic grape varietals are covered (think Chardonnay, Grenache and Cabernet), with the addition of more interesting bottles — like the brand’s Botrytis Riesling.
