As the craftsmen in the days of old once honoured their sovereign rulers, Moët & Chandon has recently honoured twenty time Grand Slam champion (and king of tennis) Roger Federer with a limited edition champagne. Limited edition champagne “… commonly considered one of the finest vintages Moët has produced over the past quarter century…”.
The GREATNESS SINCE 1998 collection will see only twenty 1.5 litre bottles available in the entire world, comprised of Grand Vintage magnum bottles that have been “… designed and bound in a premium leather racket grip…”, as well as being numbered and signed by Federer himself. And yes, each bottle will run you $24,000 USD.
“It is a bottle wrapped in a black leather band like the tennis wrap on my rackets,” says Federer.
“It is called ‘Greatness since 1998, after the year I joined the professional circuit. So it has a real tennis connection and means a lot to me!”
All profits will go towards the Roger Federer Foundation, and help fund the efforts behind several education initiatives currently active in the regions of Switzerland and South Africa.
Cheers to that.
All bottles will be made-to-order through Moët Hennessy’s boutique from July 1st. Find out more here.
