For folks who don’t mind the odd flute or two of France’s best bubbly export, Moët & Chandon is hosting an ‘Effervescence’ event where the champagne house plans to pop no less than 1,800 bottles of the good stuff. Set to be held at the iconic Mrs Macquarie’s Chair on Sydney Harbour from December 1st to 3rd, the event looks to celebrate all things champagne against one of the most spectacular backdrops that Australia has to offer.
Kicking off this Thursday, Moët & Chandon have spared no expense on creating the temporary venue for the event, which spans more than 600 square metres and took the best part of three weeks to build, with dozens of people working around the clock to bring it to life. The centrepiece of the ‘Effervescence’ venue is a giant eight-metre-tall golden arches structure (no, not like those golden arches), which will act as a beacon of celebration to welcome guests as they arrive.

Of the 1,800 bottles set to be popped open, from which around 6,000 glasses of champagne will be poured, Moët & Chandon will be inviting guests to experience a range of different wine that showcases the best of what the house has to offer. These will include bottles such as the iconic Moët Impérial, the refined Grand Vintage Collection and the Moët Rosé Impérial for those who prefer a rouge tint in their bubbles.
Among the ‘Effervescence’ celebrations will be a number of specific ticketed events for guests to experience the variety of offerings that Moët & Chandon has been hard at work creating. Kicking off on this Friday evening will be the ‘Moët Rosé Imperial Evening’, followed by the ‘Moët Imperial Day Party’ on Saturday and a final ‘A Journey Through Moët Evening’ to cap things off.
With the spectacle set to lift off in just a couple of days, tickets are selling fast as Sydney-siders prepare for a weekend of effervescent action. Champagne lovers won’t want to miss this one.
