Tesla might be best known for its industry-accelerating electric vehicles, but the automaker occasionally expands its offering into the weirder and more wonderful. One such item is the aggressively angular Tesla Sipping Glasses, which are shaped to complement the US$250 (AU$370) Tesla Tequila launched back in 2020 that took the form of a Harry Potter-esque lightning bolt.

The unique silhouette of the Tesla Sipping Glasses definitely offers an unusual profile to wrap your hand (and head) around, but the experience of holding one of these glasses is a lot more straightforward than the experience of trying to put one down on the table. Thanks to their elongated right-angled triangular shape, the glasses will only stay upright if you place them in their Tesla-branded polished metal stand, which means you can never venture too far from wherever the cradle happens to be.

Tesla Sipping Glasses

Just in case you forgot who made your Sipping Glasses, each vessel features the Tesla logo in pride of place near the top of the glass, executed in a white frosted texture. If you were hoping the glasses were pint-sized, you might be disappointed as each glass has a capacity for just 44 ml of liquid, as they stand just shy of 9 cm tall.

If you like the angular aesthetic that Tesla seems to be trying to bring back into vogue with its Cybertruck (which Musk has said was inspired by the Lotus Esprit), then you’ll love these glasses. However, with a square opening from which to drink, one does wonder how easy it would be to actually drink from the glass if you weren’t carefully sipping from one of the corners.

While the Tesla Sipping Glasses are a slightly unusual move from the EV manufacturer, they certainly aren’t the only unexpected thing in the Tesla shop, which also contains the Giga Texas Belt Buckle, the Cyberwhistle and the Tesla…& Chill Blanket. Tesla’s Sipping Glasses remain in stock, with an RRP of US$75 (AU$115).
