The 1.5-Litre “Goonlivet” Arrives Just In Time For The Weekend

In what is perhaps the greatest April Fool’s activation we’ve come across to date alongside the VB kicks (AKA “The Ultimate Shoey“), The Glenlivet has broken convention with “The Goonlivet.”

Presenting the award-winning 12-year-old single malt whisky in a format that’ll undoubtedly resonate with Aussie consumers, this fantasy release features a gold tap for easy-pouring and foil bag to preserve all 1.5 litres of the goods. Complete with that signature premium design we’ve come to/grow fond so of.

”The new format is a natural evolution of everything The Glenlivet brand stands for – to reach a new style of whisky drinker,” said Eric Thomson, Global Marketing Director of Pernod Ricard.

The Goonlivet - April Fool's Prank

While you’ll probably have a hard time getting your hands on The Goonlivet given it’s almost completely fictitious – although we’re hoping they’ll take a page out of VB’s playbook and bring it to life somewhere down the line due to overwhelming demand – the scotch brand has enough decency to offer a consolation prize instead of straight-up dangling the carrot (although they’re not far off).

To celebrate the playful little ruse, this very weekend, the folks over at internationally-renowned Sydney establishment Maybe Sammy will be serving up “Goon Fashioned” cocktails to set ya right.

Sarah Proietti, ALIA Bartender of the Year & Venue Manager at Maybe Sammy said: ”It’s a game changer. It’s so easy to make and serve cocktails, whilst The Goonlivet creates a new kind of theatre behind the bar – as it clearly stands out.”
